TIRANA, November 21/ATA/-The teams of the Directorate of Irrigation and Drainage and the relevant structures are on site and on full alert to handle the situation caused by the heavy rain, the Albania’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca said during the meeting of the Emergency Headquarters, in Shkodra district.
Since Sunday morning, together with the working groups, the Minister Krifca closely inspected the two important reservoirs in the region of Shkodra, Viluni and Çasti.
“The situation in the hydropower plants is under control. Work is underway and the teams have been engaged on the ground. There is no shortage of electricity and we remain in constant contact with OSHEE to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the hydropower plants”, Krifca said.
“The prefecture is working in close co-operation with the local government to face any difficult situation caused by extreme rains”, Krifca emphasized at the meeting of the Emergency Headquarters, attended by representatives from all line institutions. //a.i/
