Rama: Pyramid building to be converted into Balkans’ largest digital hub

TIRANA, Nov  18 /ATA/- The pyramid in the capital will be the largest multifunctional center for young people, focused mainly on digital education, but also on art and culture.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has published photos from the ongoing works in one of the city’s landmarks, which after the transformation will attract about 5 thousand young people a day.

Rama says that the pyramid, which is taking the shape conceived by the famous Dutch architect, Winy Maas, will soon become the largest digital hub in the Balkans.

After the completion of this project with the funding of the government, the Municipality of Tirana and the American Development Fund, this center will have 18 rooms, where young people can learn a myriad of computer programs and 14 other classrooms that have been conceived in nature.

According to the project, the Pyramid is divided into 3 areas with one part dedicated to Tumo and other classes that will take place inside, another one dedicated to business systems and IT entrepreneurs where many of the Startups will practice and test products .

The innovation is the recycling of all the remaining material in the pyramid, which will be used to develop the new building, while a stairway will be fitted to the sliding exterior as a student lounge.
