Peleshi: Qukës-Qafë Plloçë segment, a project that unlocks agritourism potentials

TIRANA, Nov 17 /ATA/ Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, stated on Thursday that the bottlenecks in the implementation of the Qukës-Qafë Plloçë road project resulted from the project left by the Democratic Party government.

In his remarks in parliament regarding the draft law on ratification of the amending agreement of the Istisna’a agreement and of the amending agreement of the Istisna’a Agency agreement, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Islamic Development Bank, for the construction of the Qukes -Qafë Plloçë segment, as part of the Tirana-Korçë road corridor, ratified by law no. 128/2013″, Peleshi stated that, “this law definitely ensures the full financing of a very important project, not only for the region of Korça but for the whole of Albania”.

Regarding the opposition’s accusations about the delays of this project, Peleshi said that, “it is true that we inherited a loan negotiated by the Minister of Finance of the previous government, Ridvan Bode, whom I thank, because I think he was interested in moving that project forward. But beyond that, everything we inherited was the reason of the delay in the implementation of that project.

“The bill for the delay is on you, because the project we inherited was flawed. The difference in height from one lot to another was not in centimeters, but tens of meters, so we had to review the project, follow the procedures that take time and in turn delayed the project,” said Peleshi.

“This project is important, it brings a region closer. It invigorates another region with untapped potential in agritourism, rich in historical, cultural assets, heritage, which is the area of Mokra with a hardworking people.”
