Application for solar thermal panels opens, 70% of cost subsidized

TIRANA, Nov  1 /ATA/ From today, citizens will be able to apply for a 70% subsidy for the installation of solar thermal panels.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Tuesday that the Albanian Government will continue to support and shield the consumer amid this global energy crisis.

Rama said that 70% of the cost will be subsidized by the Energy Efficiency Agency.

The scheme to promote the use of solar panels for heating water by household customers is intended to reduce electricity consumption and improve the supply of hot sanitary water and reduce CO2 emissions.

This is the second call for applications, which is addressed to household customers interested in receiving the installation service of solar panels for water heating for up to 2000 (two thousand) household customers, who will be selected to benefit from this support scheme.

Family customers who will apply to access support measures will be able to receive the service only in one of the entities published by the Energy Efficiency Agency.

Beneficiaries will be selected according to first to come, first to be served principle.

Household customers who will qualify for this support scheme will have to select one of the entities notified by the Agency for Energy Efficiency to receive the service.

All family customers who meet the criteria, will apply on the published www.eficenca.al portal, uploading all the required documentation.

The portal ranks the first applications that are provided with the corresponding serial number automatically.
