Tabaku:  2023 budget does not meet needs in the face of crisis

TIRANA, Oct  24 /ATA/ The Democratic Party (DP) MP, Jorida Tabaku, said on Monday that the 2023 draft budget has no real basis and does not respond to the needs of the crisis.

In a media statement, Tabaku said that the government has devoted all its energies to raising taxes and imposing fines at a time of crisis.

“While every government is tightening its belt and is trying to present draft budgets that financially support citizens, the Albanian government continues to do business with the crisis at the expense of Albanians. The 2023 budget presented to the Parliament on Friday is not only an example of how a government that does not work for the citizens does not engage in helping the citizens who are currently coping with the highest inflation rate in 20 years,” she said.

Tabaku said that this draft budget has no real basis, does not respond to the needs of the crisis that has badly hit the entrepreneurship and falls short of the citizens’ expectations today.

Tabaku added that “imposing taxes especially on the middle class of Albania is an old policy of the Rama-run governments that has this stratum foot the bill.
