TIRANA, October 24/ATA/ The State Commissioner of Elections Ilirjan Celibashi welcomed the decree of President Bajram Begaj for setting the date of the upcoming local elections.
In a reaction on social networks, Celibashi stated that it is in CEC attention to prepare and administer the elections according to international standards.
“The elections for local government bodies on May 14, 2023, will be a welcome democratic development. They have long been in the attention of CEC Albania to prepare and administer them according to recognized and accepted international standards. Professionalism, impartiality, transparency and cooperation with political parties, with the media and civil society, are reconfirmed as fundamental characteristics of the activity of the CEC”, he said./p.s./
