TIRANA, Oct 23 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Arbi Agalliu, said on Sunday that the increased fiscal burden on freelancers foreseen in the Fiscal Package that will take effect in the coming year, exacerbates the economic situation in the country.
“About 17 million euros more will be paid by freelancers after the approval of the new fiscal package for 2023. The inclusion in the personal income taxation scheme of service providers as freelance professionals is reckoned to contribute 2 billion lek per year to the state budget,” according to the relation of the draft state budget 2023,” Agalliu says in a post on social media.
According to Agalliu, freelancers fall into the middle class of society, which will undoubtedly result in decrease of consumption for this category.
“There are about 17 million euros that are taken from their hands, which would be used for consumption or investment. But this money will now go to the state budget. Perpetual attack on the middle class cuts the capital in circulation, but above all encourages them to leave Albania, as has happened so far,” he says.
Agalliu emphasized that the Government should breathe life into the economy, especially at this moment by reducing the fiscal burden and supporting the needy, the middle class and small businesses.
