TIRANA, Oct 14 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Gazment Bardhi, has informed that a request was filed Thursday with the Constitutional Court seeking the latter to declare unconstitutional the government’s decision on unauthorized floors.
“Today, on behalf of the DP Parliamentary Group, I filed a request with the Constitutional Court asking the latter to declare unconstitutional Edi Rama’s decision to offer state protection to the oligarchs who have built without permit on their skyscrapers in Tirana where the corruption and organized crime-derived money is laundered,” said Bardhi.
He emphasized that, “the Government’s decision to protect the oligarchs constructing high-rise buildings without permit in the middle of Tirana runs against the Constitution, because it infringes the equality of citizens before the law, the hierarchy of normative acts and is not authorized by the law. It runs counter to the Criminal Code, because it grants criminal amnesty to a category of persons, without a law passed by 3/5 of the votes in the Assembly. It is against the law on planning and development of the territory.”
“The Government’s decision proves that the millionaires of Edi Rama who built skyscrapers without permit in the middle of Tirana are different from the other 3 million Albanians and especially are unlike the 3304 citizens who were put in prison for merely repairing the roof of their house. The Constitutional Court has the chance to prove to us that everyone is equal before the law. Edi Rama’s oligarchs are not above the law; they are not untouchable,” says Bardhi.
