TIRANA, October 14 /ATA/ The IPARD II program has foreseen support in all its three calls for the agro-processing industry, given that it is a sector with great potential in the development of the economy.
The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development has already signed 92 contracts for investment in agro-processing machinery and equipment, including fruit and vegetable processing equipment, milk, oil, wine processing line, etc.
Thanks to these investments, it has become possible to follow the entire production cycle, from the selection, processing and packaging of the product.
New equipment in the agro-processing industry has brought an increase in production standards and capacities, aiming not only at the domestic, but also at the foreign market.
Also, high labor productivity has directly influenced the increase in employment.
The grant given to the agro-processing industry amount to 22.3 million Euros. These are funds provided by the European Union and Albanian Government. /j.p/p.s./
