Judiciary digitization, online notification platform launched

TIRANA, Oct 8 /ATA/ – The online notification platform was launched at the premises of the High Judicial Council on Saturday, a platform designed to improve efficiency and quality of services.

The platform will address one of the systemic issues in the Albanian judiciary by ensuring a real-time communication for all lawyers and court users and improving the coordination of the court hearings, optimizing human resources and increasing the cost-effectiveness of the judicial system.

The Head of the High Judicial Council, Naureda Llagami, said in her remarks at the event that “employing such digital communication tools not only in all courts, but also to all stakeholders, would put an end to a major and frequent problem facing our system today with the delayed trials, as well as ensuring an effective participation of all interested parties and the public.”

Jutta Gützkow, Head of Council of Europe Office Tirana, highlighted the importance of the online platform for a more efficient justice system to deliver quality services to the Albanian citizens.

“The platform is designed to reduce duration of procedures by guaranteeing the citizens’ right to a fair trial within a reasonable time in accordance with Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights,” Gützkow concluded.

The platform is an initiative of the High Judicial Council, supported by the joint European Union and Council of Europe Action “Strengthening the quality and efficiency of justice in Albania” (SEJIII).

It constitutes another milestone in the implementation of the profound justice reform in Albania.
