TIRANA, September 24 /ATA/ Elbasan City Hall, in cooperation with the Albanian Development Fund, has started a process of renovation of the old buildings through the cappotto system of exterior insulation in order to save electricity.
Mayor of Elbasan Gledian Llatja, together with the political leader of the region Damian Gjiknuri, inspected closely the works in context of this investment, which includes many buildings in Elbasan.
For his part, the mayor emphasized that, “There are 13 blocks of apartments that are being renovated and there are almost 200 families who will also have the opportunity to save energy as well”.
The blocks of apartments that are being renovated with the cappotto system are old buildings dating back to the 70s.
“It was also the request of the residents to intervene for this kind of system, and for the next year we are planning a project for such a system throughout Elbasan with the contribution of the citizens”, said Llatja.
The works have started on the buildings by the ring road of the city where in addition to the cappotto system, the works also foresee the noise isolation system due to the traffic in this area.
The political leader Damian Gjiknuri appreciated that, “This investment comes in the wake of many projects being carried out in the municipality of Elbasan, but what is worth emphasizing is that the project is not a facade revision, but an energy efficiency project and this is more important for the time we are living in, since energy will be an expensive and demanding commodity in the future, and the residents need this investment”./k.s/p.s./
