TIRANA, Sept 22 /ATA/ The US Ambassador, Yuri Kim, stated on Thursday that the US supports the right of the Western Balkan countries to integrate in EU and be integrated among themselves.
In reply to the question about the Open Balkan at a media briefing after a conference on the 100th anniversary of relations between Albania and the USA, Kim said that “as far as the open Balkan is concerned, the USA has been clear about its position which should neither come as a surprise nor provoke any controversy among people.”
“We support the right of the Western Balkan countries to integrate in EU and be integrated among themselves,” said Kim.
“And we will continue to support all efforts, including the Open Balkan, so that they are consistent and contribute to the integration process that is led by the EU, which is also open to all 6 Balkan countries.”
