TIRANA, Sept 13 /ATA/ In the second quarter of this year, the unemployment rate was 11.1%, marking a decrease of 1.1%, compared to the same quarter of 2021, and 1%, compared to the previous quarter.
INSTAT published the Quarterly Labor Force Survey, according to which during the April-June period, the number of employees increased by 4.3%, compared to the second quarter of 2021, and by 1.4%, compared to the first quarter of 2022.
According to INSTAT, in the second quarter of 2022, the labor force participation rate for the population aged 15-64 is 72.8%.
Compared to the second quarter of 2021, the labor force participation rate is 3.8 percentage points higher, while compared to the previous quarter it has increased by 0.8 percentage points.
Referring to the Survey data, the annual rate of change in employment for the population aged 15 and over, from the second quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022, has increased by 4.1%.
In annual terms, employment increased by 7.1% in the industry sector, by 2% in the services sector, and by 4.9% in the agriculture sector.
Compared to the first quarter of the year, in the second quarter of 2022, employment for the population aged 15 and over increased by 1.7%. Employment increased by 1.6% in the industry sector by 2.3% in the agriculture sector and by 1.4% in the services sector.
