Remittances reach EUR 184 mln, an all-time high since 2010

TIRANA, Sept 12 /ATA/ The remittances that immigrants send to their families in Albania have continued to grow in the first 6 months of this year.

According to the balance of payments of the Bank of Albania, published on Monday, during the period January-June 2022, the remittances sent by immigrants amounted to about 376 million euros, with an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period a year ago.

“This is the highest level of remittances since 2010,” according to the Bank of Albania.
Italy and Greece lead as the countries which are the source of the highest remittance flows, due to the high number of immigrants who live and work in neighboring countries, followed by England, Germany, Switzerland and the USA.
