TIRANA, September 9 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama asked today the chambers of commerce to be responsible when they prepare reports on the business climate in the country.
PM Rama held a meeting with the representatives of the business chambers on their recommendations for improving the climate and strengthening the dialogue to mutually increase the contribution to the economic and social development of the country.
“We ask the business chambers to be responsible in how they prepare the reports. It is impossible for Albania to appear in reports the same as when there were long queues at the counters, arbitrary controls day and night at the doors of businesses, ports and border points, as when there were arbitrary VAT refunds. Today, all these do not exist as they have turned into interactions without physical presence, they are electronic. Then how is it possible for the reports to be the same?” said Rama.
The prime minister added that these alike reports emerge from the arbitrariness and brutality of those who speak without connection and conduct unprofessional surveys.
“This request of mine is not related to any government need, but to a relationship of responsibility with the country and the entire business community”, said Rama.
The prime minister emphasized the fact that the business climate has its own problems, this is certain. But, it is enough to take a look at all the steps that have been taken to speed up, facilitate, transform processes that were tedious and dragging until yesterday, into today’s electronic processes without physical contact”.
“It is impossible that this is not reflected in the reports made by the chambers of commerce themselves. It is impossible for us to continue to be the prey of reports made in an unprofessional manner, which actually harm our common work, the image of this country and the business climate itself. This is impossible”, said Rama.
The prime minister said that, “We cannot be prey to opinions collected on the streets, received and processed in a completely chaotic manner, channels that continuously process opinions that do not correspond to reality. There is nothing rosy in reality, but the change today is like night and day with many of the interactions between business and institutions and the life of an importer, exporter, entrepreneur who has much less problems than he had yesterday because of these interactions. It is unjustifiable that this is not reflected”, said Rama.
The prime minister assured that, “We have made all efforts and will continue to do even more to create the most dynamic and transparent interaction with business”. /j.p/p.s./
