TIRANA, Aug 25 /ATA/ The Director of the Public Health Institute, Eugena Tomini, informed on Thursday that the Omicron subvariants BA4 and BA5 are circulating in the country.
“We confirm the presence of BA4 and BA5 subvariants in the country. After confirming the positive samples in the PHI laboratory, 230 of them were sent to the reference laboratory in Germany. Of the total, over 83% were BA5 and a small percentage, about 4% were BA4,” Tomini told a news briefing.
According to her, there is a high positivity of the presence of COVID-19 cases in 24 hours.
