Çuçi: I am not challenged by avenue towards confrontation with Berisha’s mudslinging

TIRANA, Aug  5 /ATA/- Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, has reacted to the accusations of the Democratic Party head, Sali Berisha, who linked his name with a company of sailing boats.

In a post on social media account, Çuçi says that the Association of Sports Boats that he has created with passionate friends, has nothing to do with any business, let alone the speedboats or dinghies.

“There is an attempt to produce facts to illustrate Sali Berisha’s accusations against me after the last tragedy in Himara. Out of respect for the public opinion, which is rightly moved by the tragedy of the 7-year-old girl and the anguish of her family, I want to clarify that the fabrications at the expense of my name and an association of sports boats that I have created with passionate friends, have nothing to do with any business,  let alone with speedboats or dinghies. I refute these lies with disgust, as they are intended to take advantage of tragic event in a disgusting way to keep it alive for their political troubles,” the minister declares.

Çuçi emphasizes that “during these difficult days for every Albanian, but especially for the girl’s family and for us who are responsible for the safety of their lives, I have tried to speak with concrete actions against the culprits of that tragedy, who have been brought to justice, including the entire chain of command of the Vlora Border Police.”

“I think this is the right way to respect the pain of the girl’s family and her relatives. I have been confronting the mudslinging of Sali Berisha since 30 years now and that road does not challenge me. We simply have an obligation to the Albanians to separate the destiny of Albania from his fate and mudslinging”, says the minister.
