Rama: Behind hackers is another state, not a ransomware group

TIRANA, July 20 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that “putting the media on trial for defamation, including defamation that sows panic, is not the common practice of our government.”

In a posting on social networks in reaction to an article published by Top Channel about the cyberattack on e-Albania, Prime Minister Rama called on the TCH “to immediately stop the wave of disinformation and the spread of panic regarding the repercussions of cyber aggression on Albania. ”

“The news about a 30 million euro ransom from hackers or about the breach of data are false. The government has informed as much as it can inform, while the war is far from over and behind the hackers is another state, not a ransomware group,” emphasized Rama.

PM went on saying that “AKSHI and a super-specialized team of foreign experts are fighting day and night for the full recovery of the systems in record time after the attack was repulsed. It is a shame to deceive the public in this way, whatever the motives of this wave of hallucinatory disinformation.”
