TIRANA, July 18 /ATA/ The Ministry of the Interior reported today that all the services that so far have been offered online will temporarily be received physically at the relevant counters, which belong to all affiliated institutions, especially the State Police and Civil Registry Office.
The Ministry of the Interior emphasized that this temporary change in practices comes as a result of the impossible situation in providing online services through the e-Albania platform, which as part of the state technological infrastructure has fallen prey to a sophisticated and synchronized cyber attack outside Albania .
“Until this situation is resolved, the citizens will get the services at the physical counters of the affiliated institutions. There is work underway to normalize this unusual and unprecedented situation. The Ministry of the Interior asks for the understanding of all citizens for the difficulties created”, the announcement read.
The Ministry of the Interior clarified that the announcement is related only to the essential services provided by the State Police and Civil Registry Office.
“Online government services are a success story in Albania, despite the current situation created by the cyber attack”, concluded the Ministry./r.e/p.s./
