TIRANA, July 7 /ATA/ – The United States Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim reacted to a protest called by the main opposition Democratic Party on Thursday afternoon.
U.S. diplomat told reporters that it is important that the protest is peaceful and law is respected.
“It is the citizens’ right to protest, but it is important that the law is upheld and the protest is peaceful,” Kim said prior to an event hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Tirana to mark the 246th anniversary of the United States Independence Day.
Earlier today, the U.S. Embassy issued a demonstration alert, advising U.S. citizens in Tirana to avoid gatherings and the protest called by the Democratic Party.
