Challenges to make agriculture resilient to crises

TIRANA, June 27 /ATA/ / In the run-up to the G7 Summit, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Agriculture from many countries of the world gathered in Berlin at the invitation of the German government together with international organizations, development banks and philanthropists, to discuss the challenges of food security for most vulnerable countries as a result of the food chain interruptions amid the war in Ukraine.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, present at the meeting said that, “in addition to guaranteeing prompt humanitarian aid, freeing up the stock of products in Ukraine for export, put emphasis on building more sustainable food systems.”
Krifca also stressed that the focus of this meeting was the strengthening of the global committee for food guarantee as a comprehensive intergovernmental platform that puts financial instruments at the disposal of the situation.

“The emphasis was put on the need for the use of high quality seeds and seedlings, the efficient use of fertilizers and the increasing use of innovation and technology as appropriate practices to make agriculture resilient to unpredictable factors and crises,” the ministry said.
