TIRANA, June 24/ATA/ Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi together with representatives of the Quality Assurance Agency for Pre-University Education, in the framework of the “Internet Security” initiative presented the new manual during a conversation with students, teachers and psycho-social service staff in the “Sinan Tafaj” school in Tirana.
This handbook pays special attention to the teacher-parent-student relationship in terms of awareness, as well as the prevention of dangers that children may encounter online.
After many meetings organized with experts from the Ministry of Education, school leaders, teachers and parents, this manual comes as a further step in an effort to further improve safety for students.
During the meeting, Kushi stressed that when we talk about this topic, we do not only consider the negative aspects of using the Internet such as cyberbullying, sexual harassment, theft of personal data, or addiction to online games, but we also consider staying for hours in internet, which brings harm to physical and mental health.
Minister Kushi said that young people should spend more time with outdoor sports, communicating face to face with each other, to prevent obesity, self-closure or depression.
The new manual serves to guarantee the health, tranquility and well-being of students, providing complete information on all the risks that may come to them.
Kushi emphasizes that next school year will be undertaken a comprehensive awareness campaign and a concrete action plan throughout the country within this initiative. /j.p/p.s./
