TIRANA, June 15 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Wednesday urged Ukraine to reconsider its stance and recognize Kosovo.
At the meeting with Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, in Kyiv, PM Rama said that Ukraine should reconsider Kosovo’s recognition.
“Five countries in the Western Balkans have sided with you and the democratic world. Likewise, I would like to remind you of the fact that there is a sixth country, namely Kosovo, which has decisively sided with Ukraine since day one. Ukraine has yet to recognize Kosovo. You need to reconsider Kosovo’s recognition as Kosovo people really deserve it. And they really demonstrated something extraordinary, as they didn’t remain hostage to the past and recall how Ukraine behaved back then when Kosovo was under aggression, but they stood for what they believed for Ukraine. It would be best that Ukraine reconsiders the decision and convey the right message on behalf of new European political community we want to build together,” Rama told Ukrainian counterpart.
