TIRANA, June 8/ATA/ Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic stated in his speech at the “Open Balkan” Summit that, “Montenegrin government will support every initiative that promises and leads to progress”.
Speaking at the “Open Balkan” Summit in Ohrid, North Macedonia, Abazovic said that, “We need to have a dialogue and this will lead to mutual trust while we will interact together with activities that push us towards progress in the region”.
“Policies of emphasizing constant conflicts have kept us here. Our task is to change that. I am pleased that Commissioner Varhelyi is with us, I am pleased that the United States also supports this initiative and we must definitely change ourselves, no one will finish our part of our work,” Abazovic underlined.
PM Abazovic said that, “Next time, we will be six people and talk about the needs of the citizens and I am convinced that the message to the EU will be much different. Those who are skeptical and who challenge this initiative, now understand that they are wrong and that this part of the world, despite the difficulties it has gone through, belongs to the big European family.”
Abazovic further said that, “To be members of this family we need to change our behavior and mentality, to promote something new to rebrand the Western Balkans, as well as to send optimistic messages, we are quite optimistic about everything that happens here. We extend our hand to each other, this is the only way to achieve this.”
Abazovic said that, “We need an open dialogue, to create new policies. In the Western Balkans, we deserve a story that will show all our goodness. We have to change our mentality.”
He said that he expects the Prime Minister of Kosovo to come and talk about joint initiatives.
Abazovic also said that, “We are also interested to help each other especially at this time of fire season”./k.s/p.s./
