Margariti on Butrint administration: We abide by UNESCO recommendations

TIRANA, May 23/ATA/ Minister of Culture Elva Margariti stated today in the Assembly that the government abides by every recommendation of the UNESCO in the agreement for the administration of the Butrint National Park.

Addressing the opposition from the rostrum of the Assembly, Margariti said that one cannot talk about good administration, while taking references to 2012.

“We are required to speak at present-day with the vision of 2012. I would not allow myself to turn my head 10 years backward. Today, we are seeing the recommendations of 2030 and good governance means making this tourism potential available to the community for the first time,” she said.

Margariti said further that this agreement means optimizing Butrint’s revenues and setting up new fronts that have been missing chains, ensuring definitively more excellent services according to the best standards.

“The necessary services will be provided to have accessibility and a longer stay in the Butrint site. Also, this is for the benefit of the community because local artisans will benefit “, said the minister.

According to her, “All the funds that will be reinvested will be used to protect Butrint”.

“The Ministry of Culture will not receive any financial reward, salary or payment. Every other claim is slander that is spread simply for political purposes and political propaganda,” she said. /m.m//a.a/p.s./
