TIRANA, April 21 /ATA/ The role of parliament in supporting the responsibilities related to personal data protection was the highlight of a meeting that Deputy Parliament Speaker, Ermonela Felaj, had on Thursday with the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Besnik Dervishi, and the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Privacy of Kosovo, Krenare Sogojeva Dërnaku.

Felaj stressed that “it is needed coordination and promotion about the importance of personal data protection with the recent trend of merging with different data systems.”

“If we want to make sure that the right to privacy is respected, we must be careful to listen, understand, cooperate and then establish an appropriate level of protection. No one is excluded from this obligation, neither the users nor those executing the legislation,” said Felaj.
