TIRANA, April 4 /ATA/ Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla met today at the venues of the Presidency of the Assembly the US Ambassador in Tirana Yuri Kim, with whom she discussed, among other things, the bilateral cooperation for increasing security and strengthening peace in the region and beyond.
During the meeting, they discussed the role and important contribution of the Albanian Parliament in advancing and deepening important reforms, vital for the life of the country, strengthening the rule of law, consolidation of democratic institutions and fight against corruption and organized crime.
At the same time, they discussed the significance of advancing the Vetting process and building a fair justice system, in the service of the citizens, the successful cooperation between the US and Albania in the framework of the UN Security Council and NATO, the punishment of Russia’s military aggression and Ukraine’s support, as well as bilateral cooperation to increase security and strengthen peace in the region and beyond.
Nikolla and Kim also discussed on promotion of cooperation between the Albanian Parliament and the US Congress, also in the context of the 100th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as promotion and support of US investments in Albania and other bilateral cooperation issues./p.s./
