TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime ruled that the former MP of the Socialist Party, Alqi Bllako, will be remanded in custody.
Former MP Bllako surrendered to the police yesterday after the order of the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).
Defense lawyer for Bllako, Sokol Hazizaj, considered the SCCOC decision as unfair.
He told reporters that the former MP, in his capacity as Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, has only forwarded the procedural acts to the Council of Ministers for the contracts of the Fier incinerator.
“The three criminal facts identified by the procedural body of the investigation, are acts related to expropriation of land that have not been produced by Alqi Bllako. “The act was not produced by Alqi Bllako,” lawyer Hazizaj said.
BlLako is accused of “abuse of office in complicity” and “passive corruption of senior state officials or local elected officials.”
