TIRANA, March 19 /ATA/- “Agricultural exports in the first two months of this year increased 14%,” Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, said during a conversation with wheat producers and beneficiary farmers of the tax-free oil scheme held to outline the Social Resilience Package .
Krifca said that “the first two months have recorded a 14% increase in agricultural exports and we will overcome this challenge together if we move forward in this direction.”
She underlined that the government has decided to cover some agricultural costs for farmers in two different directions.
“First , we have allocated 3.2 billion ALL from the state budget as part of the support scheme for farmers, on top of this budget another amount of 500 million ALL was made available as the support measure for diesel oil. This tax-free oil scheme is working quite well, with 40% applications more than last year, showing that government policies are the right ones. We have gone up to 35 thousand applications and it will be kept open until March 30 for all farmers who want to benefit, ” she said.
On the other hand, Krifca said, this 3.2 billion that has already gone up to 3.7 billion ALL, due to another important measure which is that of agricultural inputs for greenhouse products, table grapes and strawberries.
According to her, these products have an impact on agricultural exports, adding that if farmers apply in two different seasons they can benefit up to 400 thousand ALL for inputs, certified seedlings.
