TIRANA, March 14 /ATA/ – Protests called by activists and civil organizations continued for the sixth consecutive day on Monday.
Protesters gathered again in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Tirana again to protest against soaring oil, food and commodity prices.
Speakers rejected the most recent social resilience package launched by the government, saying the proposed measures fail to tackle the rising prices.
They called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to abolish taxes included in the oil price in Albania
“We demand permanent abolition of the tax on circulation, temporarily suspension of the excise on fuel until end of crisis, and adoption of the law on the minimum subsistence level,” one of the protesters said.
Protesters warned that they would be protesting every day at 5 p.m. until their demands for lower prices are heard.
