Kosovo’s Defence Minister calls for increased KFOR presence in country’s north

PRISHTINA, Feb 27 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s Defence Minister Armend Mehaj demanded Sunday an increased presence of KFOR troops, the NATO-led international peacekeeping mission in the country.

Defence Minister Armend Mehaj said that he met with the KFOR Commander, Major General  Ferenc Kajar in order to closely coordinate efforts with the international peacekeeping force following the Russian military aggression on Ukraine four days ago.

Mehaj underlined that he had called for a greater presence of KFOR troops in Kosovo’s north and for reinforcement of KFOR contingent in the country.

“We also agreed with General Kajar to enhance coordination between the country’s security institutions and KFOR, as well as to boost capacity and vigilance throughout the country’s borders,” Mehaj said.
