TIRANA, Feb 18 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Democratic Party has officially opened on Friday in Rrogozhina the electoral campaign for the March 6 local by-election where the DP candidate for mayor is Ferdinand Saraçi.
The Democratic Party head, Lulzim Basha, stated that they were there to show Albania and Rrogozhina that nothing could stop them.
“Here we are today, gathered in a hall to show all across Albania, all across Rrogozhina that nothing can stop us. Because we know that we represent the vast majority of Albanians who have been oppressed and stolen and we are determined to stand up for them. Ferdinand Saraçi stands here today before you not to seek privileges, nor to receive advantages, but to fight for Rrogozhina, Shenaballaj, Kryevidhi and Lekaj. “
Basha stressed that, with the strategic alliance with the US and the European Union, the DP has achieved the biggest political victories.
“First and foremost, hope of every Albanian for a better life is the key factor. From the youngest to the oldest, there is an unstoppable drive for change, although change was reversed even with vote buying, using incinerator money on April 25. Yes through electoral fraud! Those who are behind bars and those who will go behind bars, bought votes with the money of incinerators, but they cannot stop the aspiration for change. And they cannot stop the aspiration of Albanians for democracy. Therefore, both commissions, the electoral reform commission and the territorial reform commission, are a reality today. Not because we have numbers in that parliament, because you know we do not have them, not because the Albanians did not give them to us, but because electoral massacre took them away from us. But we have combined these factors, the Albanian public opinion, the will of the vast majority of Albanians, including those who were political rivals, and the other factor, without which this country cannot move forward, which is the strategic alliance with the US and the European Union,” he said.
“With them side by side, we have achieved the greatest political victories, with them side by side we made the greatest gains for the Albanians, with them we will leave all this behind and look to a new horizon together. A new horizon of hope for everyone, even for the most hopeless farmer, in the most remote villages of Rrogozhina, and for the citizens at the heart of the capital, even for those who consider leaving or are getting ready to leave, even for those who have left and continue to have their minds set on this country, we will restore hope.
