TIRANA, Feb 17 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is committed to supporting farmers in expanding investment in agriculture.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, shared the example of Flori, a returnee from emigration who is investing in his land, to set up a model farm based on the experience gained in Greece, where he worked in peach plantations since 15 years old.
“In Babunja he started from scratch and has expanded the area of the peach orchard and nectarine by 7 ha for several years,”Krifca said. The Minister noted that, “while expressing his concern about the production costs, for which we will offer support through tax-free diesel fuel, he is also thinking of investing in plantation fire protection, an investment for which he will turn to the IPARD program for support. ”
