Çupi: Consultations with citizens and experts on new territorial division

TIRANA, Feb 14 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Dhurata Çupi said on Monday that “the decision of the parliament to start work on Territorial Reform is an important first step forward. Therefore, we have set up a working group to start consultations with citizens and experts all across the country.

In a press statement, Cupi stressed that “territorial reform is one of the key priorities of DP in order to bring the service closer to the citizen, to give them the opportunity to choose their representative. ”

“Less services, more employees and a lot of money wasted. This is what the administrative reform under Edi Rama produced in 2014. Edi Rama’s real goal was not local government, but the creation of constituencies to gain an edge. For him, every decision is a monetary profit and calculation of votes, and normally the citizens come the last,” underlined Çupi.

According to her, expenditures for the administration of municipalities after the administrative division have increased by over 23%, and public services in the former communes have dropped in quality.
