TIRANA, Feb 11 /ATA/ The Cycling Academy, in the southern area near the pedestrian zone of the Lake Park, will be the newest recreation site in Tirana. It is conceived as a multifunctional park, with a cycling lane and multi-play modules, such as the Clock Tower and the Tabakëve Bridge, while another space that adds value to the park is the labyrinth garden.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the works for the rehabilitation of the largest park with a focus on children and youth, on the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of Tirana as the capital. He said that finally this part of the park, which until yesterday was occupied by informal constructions, will be restored to the public, not only as a space, but as a real educational and amusement park.
“On the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of Tirana as the capital, we are preparing a fantastic surprise for the children of the city. Tirana became the Capital by chance – at that time the government needed a temporary station, which later turned into a permanent hub – but today we are not products of chance. We are products of work, of union, of love, of perseverance to carry things forward. Even this park, in the southern part of Tirana Lake, is the result of the perseverance of majority that wins over an occupying minority. Most people deserve to have public spaces beyond that of the untouchable of transition time that used to occupy the spaces of lake park,” said Veliaj.
