TIRANA, Jan 19 /ATA/ The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, during an extensive meeting on Tuesday with the DP supporters of branch 7 in Tirana, touched on the decision for former Prime Minister Berisha.
“I was cognizant of the bumpy road ahead, I did everything to bear the brunt of the decision. The truth of the matter is that without this decision, today we would not know how the Democratic Party would be, or whether the Democratic Party would exist. What is the point of all this? It’s important to use what God has given us to communicate, the power of brain and language. People communicate with mind and language. It is important to use it as the Democrats know how to use it, to speak the truth despite disagreement, different opinions, criticism and opposition, ” said Basha.
“The goal is clear, we should set the mind on achieving the change that what was not made possible on April 25, not because of your sacrifice, but because of the election massacre. And change will come although we have to carry the burden of this huge ordeal, after that of the election massacre. But one thing is for sure, the will of the overwhelming majority of Albanians to end the transition, to see the country’s elites take up their role, to make sure the political class is there to serve, is measured by vote and those who are part of the political class, who abuse power, will be held to account. This aspiration of Albanians will become a reality, no one can stop it, Edi Rama cannot stop it, , said Basha.
“Albania cannot be held a hostage, the Democratic Party cannot be held hostage, so here I am and will be as the hostage of Democrats and as the hostage of the Albanians, but as a free man in front of the regime and in front of those who have thrown their weight behind the regime by denigrating, splitting up and stoking the spirit of division. They will fail. We will win, Albania will win!”, Basha said.
