Customs revenue, USD 1.9 bn

TIRANA, Jan 18 /ATA/ The Customs Administration announces that the customs revenue have hit an all – time high, approaching the value of USD 1.9 billion dollars for 2021.

Official data show that revenue for 2021 have amounted to ALL 193.2 billion from 169.05 billion planned, or about ALL 24.1 billion (about 240 million dollars) in excess of the plan.

“The analysis of factors according to the Harvard model, shows that the positive performance of revenue collection for 2021 is mainly due to good governance in customs clearance of increased quantities of imports and rising prices in international markets. According to the model, compared to the total increase of import flow, the increase of revenue from increased import prices constitutes only 21% of the total increase of statistical value, while 79% of the increase of revenue is attributed to good administration, while the negative effect of over 3 billion lek in revenue from the fall of the exchange rate of euro and dollar against lek should be taken into consideration, ” sources from customs administration say.
