PRISTINA, January 15 /ATA/- On the 23rd anniversary of the Reçak massacre, Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj paid homage to the Reçak Memorial Complex saying that all the world condemned the Serbian crime.
“Respect for the fallen for freedom throughout the country, especially the victims of the Reçak Massacre, a massacre that has been condemned by the whole world. We come together today in honour of the fallen and the sacrifice of the people for freedom,” said Haradinaj
On January 15, 1999, Serbian forces barbarically killed and massacred 45 unarmed Albanians in the village of Reçak.
The former head of the OSCE monitoring mission in Kosovo, Ambassador William Walker, had described the Reçak massacre as a crime against humanity.
After the Reçak massacre, 48-hour fighting resumed between the KLA and Serbian forces for the dead bodies. Serbia wanted to eradicate the traces of the crime, but this attempt failed. The world saw the crime.
For the first time, missionaries and diplomats of the world were terrified by the scenes and barbaric massacres committed by Serbian forces on the Albanian civilian population./KosovaPress/p.s./
