TIRANA, January 11 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Albania’s objective is to create the National Cyber Defence Centre, which will be in the service of the Albanian army, but will also be an added value for NATO itself.
The prime minister welcomed today the signing in Tirana of the agreement to bolster cyber security in the country with the company “Jones International” led by James Logan Jones Jr.
PM Rama assessed that this agreement aims to raise to another level all the digital capacities and cyber defence system of the Republic of Albania.
PM Rama said that, “This is not just a matter of building a series of security systems, but to build a comprehensive security system that on the other hand has the opportunity to provide added value for NATO.”
The prime minister also referred to the event of leakage of salary data of Albanian citizens.
“There happened a serious event, the leak of personal payroll data, but which also teaches us that it is not just anonymous cyber attacks of which we must be protected, but also the attacks from within, by infiltrated persons, paid, or irresponsible “, said PM Rama.
Therefore, he continued, “I highly appreciate the aspect of our agreement that has to do with the guarantee that the harmful capacity of individuals will be much reduced.”
“Also, there will be special programs that your experience has, to ensure that the ability of each individual to penetrate the system is very limited. The system will have many protective walls also from the interference of individuals. This is very good news even for those who were unjustly injured by the release of personal data “, said PM Rama.
The prime minister added that, “The release of personal data on salaries was a bad thing that did not come only for the worse, as all Albanians saw with their own eyes a problem that today it is easier to address it than yesterday, in terms of legal relationship of companies’ morale with the state of the employee ”./a.a/p.s./
