TIRANA, Jan 7 /ATA/ Business and consumers increase confidence in the continued improvement and progress of the economy.
The Bank of Albania published on Friday the Business and Consumer Survey report according to which, “Economic Sensitivity Index (ECI) registered an increase of 0.9 points in December 2021.”
Although the indicator has increased for the second month in a row, the rates have been slower than those recorded during the third quarter.
According to the survey, the growth of ESI in December was determined by the improvement of consumer confidence and of confidence in the industry, services and trade sectors.
On the other hand, confidence in the construction sector has declined significantly, slowing down the growth trend of ESI in this month.
The Bank of Albania and the Ministry of Finance and Economy have expressed optimism about the expectation of economic growth in our country.
According to the BoA, the banking and financial system is sound, while the economy has shown resilience to the pandemic. The MoFE emphasizes that, “the anticipated economic growth for 2021 is beyond any domestic or foreign forecast, about 7.8% at the end of the year, a broad-based economic growth, which includes all sectors of the economy.” /j.p/sm/
