TIRANA, December 31 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Durrës today together with Head of the global company Emaar Group Mohamed El Alabbar.

They visited the large Reconstruction Site in Spitallë, where work is underway for the new neighborhood funded by the Crown Prince of the Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Prime Minister Rama said that, “There are 415 large buildings, which have been repaired with our budget, but there are also several hundred others, which are undergoing a thorough reconstruction.”

On his part, Mohamed El Alabbar congratulated PM Rama for overcoming the difficult situation. “Your Excellency, I want to congratulate you and your administration for going through this and for being able to manage it because it was an extraordinary human catastrophe. Congratulations! I am in 14 countries, but my heart is in Albania because of the way you treat me. Everyone in government is really enthusiastic about doing something for the people.”

Further on, PM Rama said that, “There was a swamp here. Practically, this area is called the former swamp. It’s a great thing to transform the former swamp and give it a new neighborhood that will be absolutely the best neighborhood of Durrës.
