TIRANA, December 22 /ATA/ Kosovo « Hive » by director Blerta Basholli is for the first time in the shortlist for the OSCAR award.
“Hive” is in the shortlist of 15 international films for the 94th edition of the OSCAR award.
“Hive” has been inspired by the real story of Fahrije Hoti from Krusha e Madhe who while looking for her missing husband in war, starts up an agriculture business to support the family. Fahrije faces a traditionally patriarchal environment that is hostile to ambition of development.
But, nothing could stop Fahrije on her mission. This became an inspiration for Basholli to produce a film on her life.
Yllka Gashi is the actor performing the role of Fahrije.
“Hive” is a co-production between Kosovo, Switzerland, Albania and North Macedonia supported by Cinematographic Centre of Kosovo, FOC and Cinéforom (Switzerland), Film Agency of North Macedonia and National Centre of Cinematography of Albania./k.s//a.a/p.s./
