TIRANA, December 9 /ATA/ – During her visit to the USA, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka held a meeting with the team that will represent Albania in the Security Council.
Minister Xhaçka stressed that the mandate in the Security Council will give Albania the opportunity to be heard and to contribute to the most important platform of global politics.
“This is a golden opportunity to promote the diplomatic interests and objectives of Albania and the Albanians, starting of course with the issue of Kosovo and regional stability. Moreover, it is an opportunity that allows us to strengthen cooperation with allies and contribute concretely to advance some common priorities, such as the Women’s Agenda, Peace and Security or the fight against Violent Radicalism and security challenges arising from global warming. What makes me feel really good is that our team of diplomats is not only fully aware of the great responsibility they have towards the country, but they are also fully up to the mark and the challenges ahead”, said the minister after the meeting.
Minister Xhaçka’s meeting with the representative team in the Security Council was held three weeks before Albania begins mandate as a non-permanent member in the UN Security Council./p.s./
