TIRANA, December 7 / ATA / The chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated on Tuesday from Washington that, “the USA strongly supports Albania’s European path.”
In a statement after the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Forum, Balla stated that the meeting was a good opportunity to share the best experiences, with the US regarded as a benchmark for us but also to intensify contacts with members of Congress, be them the House of Representatives or the Senate especially after the COVID-disruptions.
According to Balla, the very good relations that Albania has with the US in the political and diplomatic plan should be accompanied by a stronger partnership between the Albanian Parliament and the US Congress.
“The Washington Parliamentary Forum for Intelligence and Security was a good opportunity to discuss common security challenges, including challenges related to cyber-attacks, access to digital assets, cryptocurrency, crackdown on money laundering, but also issues related to trafficking,” he said.
“I want to highlight the importance of taking to a whole new level the partnership between the Albanian Parliament and the American Congress. The very good relations we have with the United States in the political and diplomatic area must now be accompanied by a stronger partnership between the Albanian Parliament and the American Congress,” he said.
We are proud that Albania is an important and strategic partner of the United States in common challenges. “I have also received thanks from members of Congress for the hospitality extended to the Afghan people, after Kabul and Afghanistan fell into the Taliban,” he said.
