TIRANA, November 24/ATA/ At the “Shefqet Ndroqi” University Hospital was successfully performed the first heart surgeries.
Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu gave the news saying that this intervention marks the beginning of the second cardiac surgery centre in Albania’s public hospitals.
The minister highlighted that the operation was successfully performed and mentioned by name the doctors, Prof. Rezar Deveja, Dr. Dervish Hasi, Dr. Ketjon Menkshi, Dr. Marjeta Bilaj, and Dr. Nereisa Rushiti. Also Prof. Ilir Ohri, Prof. Arben Baboçi, Prof.asc. Alma Cani and Dr. Saimir Kuçi provided support during the surgery”, said Manastirliu.
The new cardio-surgery service in the university hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi” gives another dimension to the hospital as it concludes a very important cycle in terms of cardiac diseases. Several years ago, it was invested in the hemodynamic service, now the cardio-surgery service will provide performance of over 400 suregry interventions per year.
The investment amounts to 1 million Euros and the first operations will start in the upcoming September, while beginning from January 2022 the hospital will be put in full capacity./k.s/p.s./
