TIRANA, Nov 22 /ATA/ The DP head, Lulzim Basha, stated on Monday that “Sali Berisha has proved in the last two months that he is a man and a politician behind the times.”
Asked in a televised interview that what has changed with regard to the statements of September 9, Basha said that “I am not talking about the expulsion of Sali Berisha, I am talking about the fact that the statute should be applied in the same manner to anyone, Sali Berisha included. Secondly, what has happened is clear, Sali Berisha did not use these two months to do the only act that the Democrats expected and deserved. He promised in summer not to include the Democratic Party or the parliamentary group, which has a very difficult and important duty towards the Democrats and Albanians, confronting the regime of Edi Rama, confronting with the electoral massacre, the daily life of Albanians that is an endless suffering due to this regime.” On the contrary, his concern overlapped with this primary task of the Democratic Party and in two months time, instead of using it to do what every Democrat expected from him, a dignified attitude, as promised, distancing himself from the Democratic Party, from the parliamentary group to continue his battle through legal avenues, because he has been designated “non grata” by the United States of America, the strategic partner of Albania, the strategic partner of the Democratic Party for 30 years.
Instead, he used this time to show his dark side. As we have seen in recent days and weeks, he chose to use the culture of lynching and launching the most shameful and hideous attacks even on female Democratic heads who do not think like him.
Asked if he shares the same views with the US government that Sali Berisha is corrupt and poses a threat to democracy, Basha stressed that, “I have not commented and I do not comment on the decision of the US government, but the attempt to lure people who have sacrificed for this party into a battle with the United States of America, is unforgivable, I would even say criminal. “Because it is a battle that undermines and annihilate the Democratic Party as the only alternative, as the only hope to get Albania out of this situation.”
Asked whether Sali Berisha is a corrupt politician, Basha said, “Sali Berisha has demonstrated through his behaviour in the last two months that he is a man and a politician behind the times.:
