Innovation centres at schools in every municipality

TIRANA, November 19 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the schools in every municipality will also have an informatics centre, too.

Speaking about Budget 2022 on Youth and Children, PM Rama said that, “It is absolutely clear for us that if we want to have a market in Albania that offers well-paid jobs for young people and a new power in function of economic and social consolidation of the country, we must invest a lot in computer technological knowledge of the youngest starting from the first grade. It is a new language that will unite the whole world tomorrow while today it unites a very considerable number of people currently working in a market which has no boundaries. I had the good fortune to meet one of them in the meeting we had in Durrës; he lives in a rural area of Durrës and has been working in America and Poland for two years without leaving home. I did not ask how much he is paid, but he is paid better than the teachers he has at the school”.

“Therefore, the system of learning technology through teaching of informatics at school will be raised to a new level and we will certainly do this by changing the informatics learning curriculum for which we have already started to work”, stressed Rama

Rama added that we already have a first experience in this respect. It clearly shows that the possibilities in this field are endless, but at the same time the demand is set to increase.

“It is the experience with the centre that has been opened at the venues of the “National Arena” stadium and that will expand with another at the Pyramid building. Meanwhile, we have start working together with the Minister of Youth and Children and the Director of the National Agency of Technology to set up two more centres where to extend the experience of these centres, one in Vlora and one in Durrës or Shkodra. The ambition is that within this mandate to have such centres in every municipality. But, it does not end here, because these centres perform a certain function, while the rest are intensive coding courses for which we want to engage market-certified actors with international certifications who are available and enter into an intensive inter-action with all the school girls and boys who want to deepen their knowledge and contribute to this field. Here the budget made available is significant only for the first phase, but we are aware that it will require an exponentially growing budget. But, what we will get in return and not after many years, but starting from 2-3 years will be something fantastic for the national economy, but also the family economy of everyone who will be involved in this process “, he said. /a.a/p.s./
