TIRANA, Nov 9 /ATA/ The works on the construction of the Tirana – Durrës railway have started with the removal of the old rails.
The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who published today images from the kickoff of work on this important and long-awaited public work.
“Work kicks off on the new Tirana-Durrës railway with the removal of the old rails,” Rama emphasizes.
The project for the new Tirana-Rinas-Durrës railway has an investment value of 90.45 million euros. According to this project, the Tirana-Rinas axis will be traversed in 12 minutes, while Tirana-Durrës in 22 minutes, at a speed of 160 km / h.
The project for the construction of the railway will be implemented by the Italian company INC spa, which was announced the winner a year ago with a bid of 69.7 million euros.
The project for Tirana-Durrës railway rehabilitation and the construction of a new extension in Rinas is part of the Connectivity Agenda, which aims to connect the region and beyond with Europe, and within the framework of the Berlin Initiative, eligible projects can attract grants and funding from donors.
