TIRANA, November 5/ATA/ Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj received a group of students from Poland, who were interested in learning more about the history of Albania, but especially Tirana, which in 2022 will be the “European Youth Capital”.
They travelled from Warsaw to Tirana for the first time by direct flight between the two cities.
The mayor said this is a fantastic opportunity to connect the youth of the two countries.
“I am glad that this is the first delegation coming by the newest flight being added to Tirana Airport. This also applies to boys and girls from Tirana, so that they too can explore Warsaw. The more Tirana is connected with other cities, the better, because alliances are created, networks of young boys and girls are created, who grow up together in a Europe that is more open today “, underlined Veliaj.
The mayor said that next year when Tirana will be the “European Youth Capital”, about 1000 activities will take place with young participants from all over the world.
“I invite friends from Poland to be part of Tirana “European Capital of Youth”. We will have a year with about 1000 activities from January 1st until December 31st. I expect that even with the group we have today from Warsaw to plan some of the most impressive activities and to make sure that if our young people establish connections and contacts since they are 17-20 years old, the chances are that they will grow as allies “, said Veliaj.
Polish students were happy to visit Tirana for the first time. /a.a/p.s./
