TIRANA, Nov 5 /ATA/ Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, reacted over the ruling of Constitutional Court which dropped the Municipalities Association’s request for declaring the June 30 2029 local elections anti-constitutional.
Spiropali stated that, “The Constitutional Court certified the Local Elections of June 30, 2019″.
According to minister Spiropali, this decision proves that democracy cannot be dismantled in the interests of parties, nor is it a loot given to those who use institutions for political and private interests without any connection to the common good.”
“June 30 elections guaranteed the sovereignty of the people and ensured the legitimacy of institutions,” she said.
“The principle of periodicity, check and balance, free elections, parliamentarism as solid foundations of a free society, were not alienated thanks to the strength of civility demonstrated from North to South by choosing Albania, “Spiropali said.
